Division Chief Beckner started his fire service career as a Student Firefighter with West Side Fire District in Hood River, Oregon. Upon graduating from High School, he attended Columbia Gorge Community College while working full-time in various management positions  at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. In 2013, he transitioned from a volunteer with West Side Fire District to a full-time employee advancing through the ranks of Engineer, Lieutenant, and Captain/Training Officer.  During his tenure with West Side Fire he served as the Vice President and regional fire academy coordinator for the Columbia Gorge Training Association. In March of 2023, he was hired by Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue.
