Career Personnel

Career personnel are assigned to three different shifts, A, B and C. The length of each shift is 24-hours. They work an average of 10 shifts per month. While there are beds at the station for the overnight hours, it is a rare shift that some or all of the personnel get to sleep through the night.

Apprentice Program

With funding from the Oregon State Fire Marshal, and a joint program between the Oregon State Firefighters Council and the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, MCFR has hired six Apprentice Firefighters who will receive over 4000 hours of training and on the job experience. These Apprentice Firefighters are:

EMS Personnel

EMS Career Personnel are assigned to a 12-hour rotating shift. These personnel are the primary responders to all ambulance calls within the Ambulance Service Area as well as the primary personnel to respond and conduct Inter-facility Transfers from Mid-Columbia Medical Center to other regional hospitals in the Portland/Vancouver area, Central Oregon, and Central Washington.
