Outdoor Burn Pile Restrictions Instituted

With the Declaration of Fire Season by Oregon Department of Forestry, current weather forecasts and growing drought conditions, Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue will be modifying allowable burning operations:

Effective June 13th, 2014 at 6:00 am, all outdoor pile burning shall be prohibited.

This restriction applies to all properties within the Fire District boundary.

Individuals who reside outside of the city limits may continue to use an approved burn barrel, as long as they have a valid burn permit. Individuals responsible for any fires resulting from the use of a burn barrel, failure to follow permit requirements, or failure to comply with the modified burn pile restriction will make the responsible party liable for all related costs.

Failure to follow the burning ordinance within the city limits is also grounds for citation under the city burn ordinance. For questions regarding the city burn ordinance, contact the City Code Enforcement office at (541) 296-5481 Press Option 4 or email at [email protected]
