Bond Measure – Corrected Summary Notice

There was an error on the Ballot Measure Summary that was included in the ballots that were recently mailed. Attached is a letter with the corrected information. Any questions regarding this error should be directed to the Wasco County Clerks Office.

Mid-Columbia Tax Measure Statement Correction

Text of the letter:

Dear Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue District Voter,
This letter is to inform you that the Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue District General Obligation Bond measure had text that was inadvertently omitted on the flyer titled “Full Text of Ballot Titles”
This flyer was inserted with your ballot. The omission occurred in the paragraph stating the estimated cost to taxpayers. The corrected text for the measure is printed below.

Measure 33-88
Shall the District issue general obligation bonds not to exceed $3,850,000? If the
bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that
are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.
If approved, this measure would provide funds for capital costs including:
-The purchase of firefighting equipment and apparatus;
-The purchase of Emergency Medical Service equipment and ambulances;
-Upgrade existing fire apparatus and equipment;
-Purchase firefighting equipment and medical equipment; and
-Make additions to, furnish, equip, and renovate existing public safety facilities and pay
bond issuance costs.
The Bonds would mature not later than sixteen (16) years from the date of issuance. The measure is estimated to cost taxpayers an average of $0.21 per thousand of assessed value each year. For the owner of a home or property owner, the estimated annual average cost would be $21.00 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY, based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of the estimate.

1st Notice of Budget Committee Meeting



A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue VI 801, Wasco County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 will be held at 1400 W. 8th Street, The Dalles, Oregon.  The meeting will take place on the 17th day of May, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget.  A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 10, 2016 at Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue, 1400 W 8th Street, The Dalles, Oregon, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The budget will also be available at www.mcfr.org

This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place.  Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

Board Meeting Agenda Published — February 22, 2016

The Agenda for the upcoming Board of Directors Meeting has been published. The meeting will take place on February 22, 2016 at the main fire station, 1400 W. 8th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058. The meeting will start at 5:30 PM. The public is invited to attend.
