Burning Resumes INSIDE city limits

With a valid burn permit, residents within the city limits of The Dalles are now allowed to burn small piles of yard debris. To be valid must have been purchased on or after October 6, 2016. City residents may NOT burn in a barrel or other type of incinerator by city ordinance. For questions regarding the city burning ordinance, please contact City of The Dalles at (541) 296-5481.

City residents may burn in small piles all daylight hours until December 1, 2016 at which time burning is not authorized until the spring (April 1-May 14). If you purchase a burn permit for the fall season, it will still be good for the spring season, so please place your permit in a location where it can be found again. Permits will not be reissued if misplaced.

Permits are available by clicking Burn Permits above or by stopping by the fire station at 1400 W. 8th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058 (PayPal or Credit Card). Permits cost $5.00. If purchasing at the fire station, be advised that we only accept cash or checks (credit cards are not accepted at the fire station).
